What Appliances Can You Power With FOSSiBOT F3600 Pro?

The FOSSiBOT F3600 Pro comes with 3600W of AC output (7200W peak), which is the highest AC output power portable power station in the market. With such high power, it allows you to operate multiple high-wattage appliances simultaneously. No matter which kind of solar generator you plan to buy, it’s essential to know the highest AC output power and capacity you need. While, if you choose the F3600 Pro, the combined AC output wattage cannot exceed 3600Watt(7200 starting wattage).

Imagine this, you are using 1500W household electric oven, 1000W air conditioner, 800W electric kettle,  and a 300W projector at the same time, that is exactly 3600W. By now, you can only use USB ports, DC output ports, LED light for your phones, tablets, mini car refrigerator, etc., no more appliances on AC outlet.

How Long Will FOSSiBOT F3600 Pro Last During a Blackout?

The using time FOSSiBOT F3600 Pro will offer during a power outage depends on several factors, including:

  • Capacity in total: F3600 Pro supports extra smart battery pack*2, max capacity: 11.52kwh. Do you use F3600 Pro single unit or together with extra battery pack?
  • Power consumption of Devices: Total power consumption of the devices you connect to F3600 Pro will affect how long it lasts.
  • Usage Patterns: do you use continuously or intermediately? How long you run each appliance during blackout
  • Recharge or not: you may not be able to recharge by AC during blackout, but you can recharge by solar panels during the day as long as it’s not raining.

Practical Considerations:

  • Efficiency Losses: the conversion efficiency of the power station inverter may have some losses, typically around 15%. This means the actual capacity you use might be slightly lower than 3,840Wh.
  • Device Using Variability: Some home appliances, like air conditioners and refrigerators, do not run continuously at their rated power. Their average consumption might be lower.
  • Usage Management: You can extend the duration by managing the use of high-power devices, turning off non-essential devices, turn down the standby time of each ports etc.
  • Inverter Standby Power: The inverter itself needs power to keep turned on. So when you turn on the machine and turn on AC on/off button, it starts to consume power even if you don’t connect any devices. The inverter standby power is mostly around 25W.

Estimation:

You can use the following formula to calculate the approximate use time theoretically:

Duration (hours) =

Capacity (Wh)*Conv. Rate /

Total Power Consumption (W)

Some example calculations(theoretically)

1.Single Device(e.g. a 200W air cooler)

Duration(H)=3840Wh*0.85/(200+25)=14.5Hrs

Duration(H)=3840*2/(200+25)=29.01Hrs  -----1*F3600 Pro+1*FB3840

Duration(H)=3840*3/(200+25)=43.52Hrs  -----1*F3600 Pro+2*FB3840

2.Multiple Devices: suppose you are using the following devices simultaneously

  • CPAP: 40W
  • Laptop: 50W
  • Refrigerator: 150W(average,since fridges cycle on and off)
  • LED Light Bulbs: 20W
  • Fan: 70W

Total power consumption: 40W+50W+150W+20W+70W=330W

Duration(h)=3840*0.85/(330+25)=11.63Hrs

Duration(H)=3840*2*0.85/(330+25)=23.27Hrs  -----1*F3600 Pro+1*FB3840

Duration(H)=3840*3*0.85/(330+25)=34.91Hrs  -----1*F3600 Pro+2*FB3840

Is FOSSiBOT F3600 Pro Expandable?

Yes, it is expandable in capacity and USB output power. The F3600 Pro comes with 3.84 kWh of storage capacity and can be expanded to 11.52kWh with two FB3840 Smart Battery Packs. Connecting the FOSSiBOT F3600 Pro with two FB3840 units provides up to 11,520 Wh of capacity and 4 additional USB ports, while the total AC output power remains 3,600W.

Does FOSSiBOT F3600 Pro Connect to the Grid?

The FOSSiBOT F3600 Pro is a back up portable power station and solar generator. While it can be recharged via a wall socket (AC), it doesn't connect directly to utility power like a grid-tied or hybrid solar system. However, if you have a Smart Home Panel, you can integrate the F3600 Pro with your home wiring. Once connected, it stays fully charged and switches to battery power within 10ms when meeting a sudden blackout. Note that the F3600 Pro is not eligible for net metering programs as it cannot send electricity back to the grid.

How Many Solar Panels Can You Connect to FOSSiBOT F3600 Pro?

The answer is 4 pcs of SP420. FOSSiBOT SP420 sports a 420W rated power. However, as we know, solar panels are unlikely to product the full rated power all the time except during peak sunlight. The max power the SP420 can generate depends on sunlight. The solar input for FOSSiBOT F3600 Pro is 2000W, and the voltage limit is 160V, that means you can connect 4*SP420 maximum portable or rigid solar panels. You can also purchase 1pcs of SP420 and test its peak power when the sunlight is peak and decide the number of solar panels you want to buy for the F3600 Pro.

Can FOSSiBOT F3600 Pro Charge My EV?

Yes, but need extra grounding wire. FOSSiBOT F3600 Pro standard package doesn’t include the grounding wire. If you want to charge for your car, extra grounding wire is needed.

What Kind of Batteries Does FOSSiBOT F3600 Pro Use?

FOSSiBOT F3600 Pro uses industry-leading lithium iron phosphate (LFP/LiFePO4) batteries. LFP batteries have significant advantages over lead acid, sealed lead acid (VRLA, gel cell, AGM), nickel cadmium, and traditional lithium ion solar and home backup batteries. The primary benefits include:

The FOSSiBOT F3600 Pro is powered by industry-leading lithium iron phosphate (LFP/LiFePO4) batteries. This kind of battery is automotive grade battery which offers significant advantages over lead acid, sealed lead acid (VRLA, gel cell, AGM), nickel cadmium, and traditional lithium-ion solar and home backup batteries. Comparing to other batteries, LFP battery gains the following benefits:

  • Longer cycle life (lifespan);
  • Higher Safety;
  • Better temperature stability;
  • Faster charging times;
  • Greater depth of discharge
  • Higher energy density, so smaller in size and lighter in weight
