FAQ

Q: What devices can the FOSSiBOT F3000 power?

A: The F3000 can power most everyday household appliances, high-power devices, and outdoor equipment, including refrigerators, air conditioners, microwaves, induction cooktops, electric kettles, coffee makers, washing machines, TVs, computers, and certain power tools.

For AC devices, the continuous operating power should not exceed 3,000W, and the startup surge should not exceed 6,000W. Actual compatibility also depends on the device’s startup power requirements and operating characteristics.

Q: How long can the F3000 run my devices?

A: Runtime depends on the actual power consumption of the connected device. As a general estimate:

For devices rated at 500W or below:
Estimated runtime ≈ 2,048Wh × 0.85 ÷ (Device Power + F3000 Self-Consumption)

For devices rated above 500W:
Estimated runtime ≈ 2,048Wh × 0.85 ÷ Device Power

For example, a 500W device can run for approximately 3.3 hours, an 800W device for approximately 2.2 hours, and a 1,000W device for approximately 1.7 hours.

Actual runtime may vary depending on device power consumption, operating mode, ambient temperature, conversion efficiency, and other factors.

Q: How long can the F3000 power a refrigerator or compressor fridge?

A: For example, a 60W portable car refrigerator can typically run for approximately 1.2–2.4 days.

Actual runtime depends on factors such as ambient temperature, cooling settings, refrigerator load, and compressor cycling frequency.

Q: Can the F3000 power an air conditioner?

A: Yes, as long as the air conditioner’s operating power does not exceed 3,000W and its startup surge does not exceed 6,000W.

For example, an 800W portable air conditioner can run for approximately 2.2 hours. Actual runtime depends on the air conditioner’s operating conditions and actual power consumption.

Q: Is the F3000 suitable for RVs, camper vans, or trailers?

A: Yes. The F3000 can be used in RVs, camper vans, and trailers to power devices such as refrigerators, lights, TVs, coffee makers, and chargers.

It provides 3 AC outlets, a 12V/10A 120W car output, and USB outputs to meet a variety of vehicle and outdoor power needs. Please note that the F3000 does not feature a dedicated RV output port.

Q: How do I turn on the AC output of the F3000?

A: After turning on the F3000, press the AC button to activate the AC output. To switch the AC frequency, press and hold the AC button for 10 seconds.

Q: Can I use the F3000 while it is charging?

A: Yes. The F3000 supports simultaneous charging and discharging. For example, you can power a refrigerator while charging the F3000 from solar panels, an AC outlet, or a vehicle.

Q: What solar panels are compatible with the F3000?

A: The F3000 supports up to 1,200W of solar input, with an input voltage range of 12–60V and a maximum input current of 25A. It uses an XT60 solar charging port.

When using solar panels, make sure the voltage, current, power, and connector specifications meet the F3000’s input requirements.

Q: Can I use third-party solar panels with the F3000?

A: Yes. Third-party solar panels can be used as long as they meet the F3000’s solar input requirements: 12–60V, up to 25A, and up to 1,200W.

Connector compatibility should also be considered. The F3000 uses an XT60 solar charging port. If your third-party solar panel uses a different connector, a compatible cable or adapter will be required.

Q: Why doesn’t my solar panel consistently reach its rated power?

A: A solar panel’s rated power is measured under Standard Test Conditions (STC), which represent ideal laboratory conditions. Actual output can be affected by sunlight intensity, panel orientation, temperature, shading, dust, and cable losses.

Even in strong sunlight, high panel temperatures can reduce power generation efficiency, so actual output may still be below the rated power on hot, sunny days. For better charging performance, position the solar panel toward direct sunlight, avoid shading, and maintain good airflow around the back of the panel.

Q: Can I connect multiple solar panels to the F3000?

A: Yes. The F3000 supports multiple solar panels connected in series or parallel, as long as the final input remains within the limits of 12–60V, 25A maximum, and 1,200W maximum.

When panels are connected in series, their voltages are added together, so the total voltage must not exceed 60V. When connected in parallel, the voltage remains approximately the same while the current is added together.

When using FOSSiBOT solar panels, the estimated charging times are:

  • 1 × SP400 Pro (400W): approximately 5.12 hours
  • 3 × SP200 / SP200 Pro (200W): approximately 3.4 hours
  • 3 × SP100 Pro (100W): approximately 6.8 hours

These charging times are for reference only. Actual charging time may vary depending on sunlight intensity, weather conditions, panel orientation, temperature, and other factors.

Q: How long does it take to fully charge the F3000?

A: Estimated charging times are:

  • AC charging (up to 2,000W): approximately 1.2 hours
  • AC + solar charging (up to 2,000W): approximately 1.2 hours
  • Vehicle charging (96W): approximately 21.33 hours
  • FAC580 DC-DC charging (up to 580W): approximately 3.5 hours

For solar charging times, please refer to the previous question.

Q: Can the F3000 be charged while driving? How can I charge it faster?

A: Yes. The F3000 supports charging through a vehicle’s 12V/24V cigarette lighter socket at 96W. A full charge takes approximately 21.33 hours.

For faster vehicle charging, you can use the FOSSiBOT FAC580 DC-DC Alternator Charger. The F3000 supports up to 580W DC input, allowing charging at up to 580W when connected to the FAC580. A full charge takes approximately 3.5 hours.

Q: Why does the F3000 automatically shut down?

A: To reduce unnecessary power consumption, the F3000 features an automatic shutdown mechanism:

  • If no load or output is detected from a corresponding output port for 30 consecutive minutes, that output function will automatically turn off.
  • If the entire F3000 has no active output for 5 consecutive minutes, the unit will automatically shut down.

This is a normal energy-saving feature and does not indicate a malfunction.

Q: Does the F3000 support external batteries?

A: The F3000 does not support dedicated FOSSiBOT expansion battery packs. However, you can enable the external battery function through the app and connect a compatible lead-acid or lithium battery.

The F3000 supports 12V, 24V, and 48V external battery systems, with a maximum external battery current of 15A.

Please note:

  • Maximum external battery current: 15A
  • Supports lead-acid and lithium batteries
  • External battery connection cable is not included
  • After restarting the F3000, the external battery function will be disabled and must be re-enabled through the app
  • Do not use vehicle charging while the external battery function is enabled
Q: Can I leave the F3000 inside a hot vehicle for extended periods during summer?

A: It is not recommended to leave the F3000 inside a closed vehicle exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods.

The recommended charging temperature is 0–40°C (32–104°F), while the recommended discharging temperature is -10–40°C (14–104°F). The F3000 can continue operating above 40°C (104°F), but it may not maintain full-power output. When the battery temperature reaches the high-temperature protection range of 55–66°C (131–151°F), the battery will stop discharging.

In hot environments, avoid direct sunlight whenever possible and keep the F3000 in a shaded, well-ventilated area.

Q: Are there input and output power limits when using the F3000 in UPS mode?

A: Yes. In UPS mode, the maximum AC input power is 300W, while the maximum AC output power is 2,000W.

UPS mode prioritizes continuous power delivery to connected devices, so charging power is limited to 300W. This is normal operating behavior. The lower charging power also helps reduce stress on the battery and supports longer battery life.
